mmhk,

I happen upon the past, thinking of it again, as if I were hearing a loud echo: “Sparks struck by those horses’ hoofs will set all Burma ablaze !”, Or, “Burma should be ablazed if  the mounted police came clattering their horses’ hoofs”,[
ျမင္းခြာတစ္ခ်က္ေပါက္လွ်င္ မီးဟုန္းဟုန္းေတာင္ေစရမည္ ။ ] “Battle-cry” by Thakin Ba Hein,
President of the Students Union (1938). During those Students’ peaceful demonstrations, student Ko Aung Kyaw was killed and honoured as Bo Aung Kyaw.
What I want to express here is that I have read sadly all those “War-cry” and “Battle-cry” and moreover, “Craddock-get out”, the Venerable Sayadaw U Ottama’s “Battle-cry” (1928). But now again those same echos by necessity repeat among our same people of Burma, who live on the same earth, who drink the same water and who breathe the same air.
Alas ! Histoy repeats itself or not but its answer should not be made by this greeting: “Good morning to sadness !” However, Hope upholds us and so, let us hope for the best according to the verse of Dohbama song, “Till the world ends we are Burmans (people of Burma) – this is our place, this is our land, this is our earth ; it is certain that it will come to pass in our time!”
I admit that I have learnt by heart these extracts from the book, “Thakin Ba Sein’s role in Burma’s Struggle for Independence” by Thkkatho Sein Tin (17/4/2001); And again like an echo,“Six months imprisonment wait for a young Thakin ; Though looked after by mother yet fed by the prison ; glorying in the saying : “Mother’s sons - set up by the jail !”
Today, I have a feeling that They “Dohbama” are not anymore like frogs sitting under a log !  “The moon is powerful ; powerful, too, are Brahmanas and Samanas ; the power of the sea is its shore ; the power of woman is the greatest power.” LOKANITI, Section X11, The Powerful, 150, Translation by JAMES GRAY (1886).
Furthermore the press is a power in the land ! Especially,  it is against the powers of darkness under the rule of a tyrant !
May a new and true Thakin Warda, high Spirits of Thakins, be born again by a  New Burmese Generation, a noble-minded new wave in our beloved Burma for her Noble cause and Genuine democratic system ! And, May this darkest time in our Mother Burma be the darkest time before dawn that starts to sparkle under the most infamous rule of “The Prince of Darkness”; A man who lives a lie with unkindness.
May my heart-felt metta, loving-kindness reach all who are, according to an old Burmese saying, proving that “a dragon must show its crest so as to make others know that he is a dragon only when there is need.” There is a cure for everything but death.
“Man lives by hope”, So do I !!..
